I live and cook in a small space, often off-grid or semi-off-grid, so everything I own has to be:

  • reliable
  • multi-purpose
  • space saving
  • affordable
  • and durable enough to survive camping, road life, and off-grid cooking

So today I’m sharing the exact tools I reach for every single day and the deals you can snag right now. These aren’t sponsored, trendy gadgets. They’re things I have used, loved, abused, and repurchased.

Why This List Is Different and Why it Matters

Most Black Friday gift guides online feel like some editor grabbed a bunch of Amazon links and called it a day.

This list? It’s the real-world gear in my kitchen and pantry. The things I cook with every single week:

  • my dehydrating must-haves
  • the organizers that keep my off-grid pantry from becoming chaos
  • the cookware I trust
  • the tools that save fuel, electricity, or time
  • the food preservation staples I always reorder on sale

If you want to create a pantry that works for you. Even when you’re camping, traveling, or cooking without full power… this list is for you.

My Daily Off-Grid Kitchen Essentials

  1. Cast Iron Cookware is basically the backbone of my entire kitchen. It works on:
  • propane
  • wood fire
  • camp stove
  • oven
  • grill

It lasts forever, cooks perfectly, it’s non-toxic and can take a beating.

I recommend:

Basic 10–12 inch Lodge cast iron skillet and the Lodge Dutch Oven. I have added a link to them both so you can take a look. I’m a visual person!

2. Leak from Containers

If I am stationary, I use mason jars or glass containers with sealable lids. If I am traveling and need non-breakable containers I use mylar bags. I use these mostly for my homemade dry mixes and dehydrated foods. Ill have links below so you can see exactly what I use.

If you want to learn how to make your own homemade dry mixes, you can visit this page. I have a bunch of pantry recipes you can make right at home and skip the store-bought stuff that has mysterious ingredients.

Dehydrating Tools I Use Constantly

  1. Dehydrator – This thing runs almost constantly in my home especially when we are stocking up for winter. By dehydrating, we can have a whole winters supply of fresh produce that we just have to rehydrate. No wasted food, no running to the grocery store when we run out. We always have fresh food on hand at all times.

Here are the Dehydrators and accessories I use and LOVE

2. Miscellaneous Kitchen Must Haves – These are things like oxygen absorbers to keep food fresh longer, Spice Grinder for making powders (like onion Powder) and many other things. Not mandatory but make things easier in the kitchen.

These are the ones I use and recommend:

Camping Cooking Essentials

When we go camping, we only bring ready to eat meals. Things like instant oatmeal (homemade of course), and dehydrated meals so we can enjoy the camping trip without spending half the day cooking and it makes for a much lighter pack when backpacking.

Here are our essentials:
