Why Make These Recipes
When I first got started building my ‘from scratch’ kitchen I had no idea where to start. I knew I wanted to get away from all the additives and preservatives from the grocery store but if I got rid of everything that was bad for my family, I felt like I was going to have to throw everything in my pantry away and completely start over. That thought was daunting!!
I am here to tell you; that’s not the case. You can start replacing things slowly as you find recipes you like. Start with things you actually use on a daily basis.
These seasoning blends are a great place to start because they are seasoning blends that most of us already buy from the grocery store but can easily be made at home. Choose where you want to start and if you like the recipe, save it so you can continue to make more when you run out.

The Seasoning Blend Recipes
These are seasoning blends that I think are the most popular. All of them are super easy to make and typically take 5 minutes. There are a couple that will take a little but longer but they are still easy to make! I also suggest making these in bulk if you like them, so you don’t have to make them very often. This saves time and by making them from scratch it saves you money too.
Garlic Powder
Garlic powder is one of those seasonings I use CONSTANTLY! The store-bought garlic powder actually tastes very bland compared to homemade garlic powder. The ones at the store are usually stale and have lost their flavor. Here is how to make it at home.
Garlic Salt
The garlic salt that is at the store has anticaking agents and salt the is actually bad for us to consume but the good news is that it’s super easy to make at home. In this recipe, I explain what salt I use because most salts are really bad for us!
Onion Powder
This is one of those seasonings that seems to be in almost every recipe. I honestly put onions in almost all my recipes so it’s really handy to be able to make it from home.
Taco Seasoning
This has always been a pantry staple for most families. It is super handy when Taco Tuesday rolls around or you have any other taco flavored dishes. I use this recipe on anything that needs a little zing.
Seasoned Salt
Seasoned salt was one of those grocery store items that I used on EVERYTHING!! When I started replacing toxic ingredients, seasoned salt was one of those items that had to get replaced. Thankfully, it’s super easy to make at home!
Burger Seasoning
I love having a recipe that tastes amazing on grilled foods. I don’t just use this recipe for burgers; I use it for anything that is being grilled. Chicken, Beef, Pork… it all gets this seasoning!
Enchilada Sauce Seasoning
I don’t make enchiladas very often but it’s a wonderful seasoning to have in the pantry ready to go when you need to make enchilada recipe quickly, but you want to eat healthy, too.
Ranch Seasoning Mix
I probably shouldn’t put this one last because I use it constantly! I’ll be honest, I’m addicted to ranch and the store-bought stuff has a lot of unknown ingredients. I am super grateful to be able to make a healthier version.
