Seasoned Salt is my absolute favorite, all-purpose seasoning. You can use it on any dish, and it tastes amazing! When you have all the main ingredients, making seasonings from scratch is actually quite easy. Let me show you how to make a copycat seasoned salt that tastes like the real thing and has all natural ingredients.

Why Make This Recipe
This recipe is easy, has no preservatives or unknown additives, and actually saves you money.
The ingredients in this recipe are healthy, whole foods, and main ingredients that any from scratch kitchen should have on hand.
The store-bought version has anticaking agents and who knows how many other bad ingredients in it. It was honestly my favorite seasoning until I read the ingredients. Now I ONLY make it from scratch.
It also saved you money by making it from scratch. If you want to know the actual breakdown between store bought mixes and making them from scratch, this is the best blog post to read. Cost Comparison between store-bought and homemade Mixes.

Instructions
- Add all the ingredients to a sealed container.
- Shake to mix all the seasonings together.
All done! Super easy and I can’t believe it took me so long to start making it from scratch.
Storing Tips
You will want to store this seasoning in an airtight container. Once your seasoning is exposed to the air for too long, that’s when it becomes stale and doesn’t quite taste the same as when it was fresh. By keeping it in an airtight container, you are making it last longer.
This is the container I like to use because it is airtight and convenient to use when making meals. My Favorite Airtight Container!
If you use this seasoning a lot or just want to save time by making it in bulk, you will want to get as much of the air out as possible. I like to do this by adding your seasoning mix to a mason jar, adding an oxygen absorber and then vacuum sealing it shut. I have linked all the items I use for this process (which are underlined) but you can also find all my favorite tools Here.
How Much to Make
How much you make really depends on you, how often you use it and how much you want to store in bulk. I suggest making enough that will last for a couple of month and then making some more when you run out. I only suggest this because it is so easy to make. If it were more difficult than I would suggest making it and bulk and storing it long term so you don’t have to make it very often.
Building Your from Scratch Kitchen
For me, making everything from scratch seemed overwhelming. I kept thinking ” I don’t have time for that!” but in reality, it really doesn’t take that much time. Once you get in a rhythm of restocking it as you run out, it takes very little time at all.
The hardest part is learning how to make them all in the first place. If you are not sure where to start you can grab my free From Scratch Pantry Guide to help you get started.
