I spent months trying to find a good pizza dough recipe. This is the only recipe that I know of that doesn’t take hours to make and it’s high in protein. I really like this recipe because it’s easy! If you are cramped on time or space, this recipe is perfect for you!

About This Recipe
When my husband and I started looking into eating healthier, the frozen pizzas were one of the first things I wanted to learn how to replace. I tired so many different recipes! Some recipes I tired took HOURS, others turned out chewy, and then there were ones that didn’t turn out good at all.
The more I experiment with recipes the more I want to add extra protein when I can. This recipe is not just dough with toppings on top. It also has Greek Yogurt which adds more protein to the dish, so you stay full longer.
If you want the convenience of store-bought mixes but you don’t want all the additives that come with those mixes, you can make your own from scratch pantry. If doing that feels overwhelming, I have created a From Scratch Pantry Guide to help you build your pantry without all the overwhelm.
The Recipe
Dry Ingredients:
- 1 Cup Self-Rising Flour (Homemade Self-Rising Flour Recipe)
- 1/4 Tsp salt
Wet Ingredients:
- 3/4 Cup Greek Yogurt
Instructions:
- Mix the dry ingredients together.
- Store in the pantry for an easy meal or use immediately.
- When ready to use; Add Greek Yogurt to your dry ingredients and mix together.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface until it is 1/4 inch thick. You may need to sprinkle a little flour on top of your dough if your rolling pin is sticking to the dough. The shape you roll it out to depends on the pan you will be cooking it on. I have used a round pizza pan, and I have also used a rectangle baking sheet because that’s what I had available.
- Transfer your pizza crust to a parchment lined baking pan.
- Add your favorite toppings.
- Bake at 400 Degrees for 20 Minutes are until the crust and cheese is golden brown.
My favorite Toppings
You can add any toppings you would like but I’ll give you some of my favorite toppings to give you some inspiration. You can also cut the dough in half and make 2 mini pizzas and let the kids pick their own toppings.
Taco Pizza
Taco Pizza is one of my favorites because who doesn’t like tacos?!
- To make this, I cook my ground beef on the stove with taco seasoning.
- Saute some onions and mix that with the ground beef.
- Then put some salsa in your ground beef mixture as the “sauce” to your pizza.
- Put your ground beef mixture on your pizza crust.
- Top it with your favorite cheese.
- Then bake.
- Once it is done baking, add finely shredded lettuce, thinly diced tomatoes and olives.
- Cut your pizza and enjoy.
That’s how I make taco pizza. It’s a must try on Taco Tuesday!
Ham and Cheese Pizza
When my husband and I would order pizza at our favorite pizza place, we would order diced ham and black olive pizza, so this is our homemade version.
- Add pizza sauce or marinara sauce to your uncooked pizza crust.
- Add very small, diced ham and diced olives.
- Top it with your favorite cheese.
- Then bake.
Super easy! If you like ham and olives, test this one out and let me know how you liked it!
Storing Tips
Storing Dry Mix Ingredients
I always like to have several jars of the dry mix in the pantry so when I go to the pantry looking for something to make, it will have visual options to make the decision less stressful. Have them in the pantry ready to go also makes dinner super quick and easy because you don’t have to make the whole thing from scratch.
To store the dry mix, you will want to store it in an airtight container. That airtight container can be a mason jar, mylar bag or anything that doesn’t let air in or out.
If you are wanting to store these mixes longer than a couple of months, I would suggest adding an oxygen absorber and vacuum seal the air out of the container you are using. My favorite containers are mason jars and mylar bags.
