Self-Rising Flour Recipe

When I first learned about this recipe, my first reaction was “how did I not know this sooner?” After I saw the ingredients, I have never bought self-rising flour since that moment. Storing Tips

I don’t usually make this ahead of time because it’s so easy to make but you can store it just like you would regular flour. Make sure you are storing it in an airtight container. This should last quite a few months, but definitely do you own research to figure out exactly how long it will last.

The longer flour is exposed to faster it will become stale. This is why a lot of people grind their own flour because it tastes fresher than the stuff sitting on the shelf at the store.

If you want to make it last as long as possible you will want to add an oxygen absorber (like this one) in with the flour and then remove as much air as possible. To remove air, you will want to vacuum seal the jar, or bag you are using.
